After these weeks of being thrilled by the change in myself just due to my daily 5 positives, I have decided to look for more positive thinking resources.
One caution is that I want to avoid psychobabble like, “think positively about what you want and it will come to you.”
Here are good resources:
- Positive Thinking magazine (I like the forums too)
- Success Consciousness
Here are resources I intend to avoid:
- The secret (I strongly advocate thoughtfully changing your self-talk instead)
- Manifesting Money
The scale showed a breakthrough, pushing my total loss to over 40 pounds. I’m very pleased that I did it by believing I could eat a little less, and practicing it.
My Five for today:
- Last night, I was able to recognize that I could skip meals without a major crisis, so I did. This morning, normal breakfast, normal day.
- It’s fun to think that I’ll never eat “badly” again. Sometimes I’ll eat too much, or too little, or wish I’d eaten more vegetables or more chocolate, but I’m not going to beat myself up and label my eating with a moral judgement.
- I made the best oatmeal cookies in the world last night. I’ll post the recipe on my chocolate blog.
- When I told my husband I’d made not only the best oatmeal cookies, but the best cookies ever in the history of the world, he reminded me I said that just a few weeks ago when I made chocolate chip cookies. I’m thrilled that not only am I blessed with the gift for cooking, but I’m also blessed with a short memory.
- Drinking my water is becoming more automatic. I drank it all day and never once stopped to check if I’d met my target of 2+ liters a day. I did.
