Now that my preferred swimming pool has closed down til September for the school vacation, I’ve started going to another nearby pool that will be open until the 29th. This is also a nice pool, with some advantages over the other one. First, it is nearer and 30% cheaper. It’s also smaller and has many more kids.
Last night was rather frantic, with kids splashing and screeching everywhere. Then an aquajogging class started. Since I was already into my rhythm, and preferred to exercise longer than the 45 minute class period, I didn’t bother trying to pariticipate. But it was an interesting class, because they had lots of cool toys, like foam boots for the feet and foam barbells. They weren’t working as hard as I was, though I did take advantage of their music. The instructor had a real aerobic disc playing, rather than just music, like my normal instructor does.
The instructor really made my day, because as I was leaving, she stopped and complimented me on my energy and speed. She asked if I used the floatation equipment, and I was thrilled to tell her that I prefer the extra work it requires to go without.
I left the pool feeling strong and powerful, and happy as all get-out that someone could tell me, an obese person, that they noticed how strong I am.
My positives:
- I have much better aquajogging sessions, now that I keep my goals in mind when I work out
- I am a strong, vibrant woman!
- My mind is full of ways to keep improving my thinking and change behaviors
- I can leave food on my plate
- Finally I told my boss the hard stuff
